Letting Go

Our theme for October is “Letting Go” and the question to consider is, “What does it mean to be a people of letting go?” Sometimes letting go is a choice, and sometimes it is forced upon us. With any change, however, we are assured of the need to let go of something. We might let go of people, places, things, ideas, dreams, or identities. The late Unitarian Universalist minister, the Reverend Forrest Church, wrote, “When cast into the depths, to survive, we must first let go of things that will not save us. Then we must reach out for the things that can.” How might your life be different if you allowed yourself to let go in some places, and reach out to embrace in others?
