February theme is “Identity”

Wednesday, February 15th

7 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Clint Smith is a slam poet whose TED Talk “How to Raise a Black Son in America” has struck an intense chord as gun violence continues to escalate. It has climbed to 1.8 million views. Told with passion and personal insight from the dual perspective of father and son, the story centers around an adolescent squirt gun fight in a hotel parking lot. Facilitator, LaDawn Edwards, has used this TED Talk for several semesters in her UAH writing class to encourage business students to consider other points of view.

Join us on Wednesday night, February 15th at 7 p.m., immediately following the Wonderful Wednesday Night Supper. The short video will be followed by a discussion of these ideas and how they relate to the principles of Unitarian Universalism.

Everyone is welcome and, childcare will be provided.
